Brickline Greenway

Arcturis worked with Great Rivers Greenway (GRG) on The Brickline to develop wayfinding, regulatory, and interpretive signage. This nationally recognized project will bring vibrancy to St. Louis through an integrated greenway system that will connect 14 neighborhoods for 10 total miles. To meet the client’s goal of creating an experience that “transcends boundaries,” the design needed to support the diversity of users on a physical, sensory, and historical level.

Arcturis created signs that integrated GRG sign standards with the newly created Brickline brand. A larger design committee helped direct the project to ensure equitable use of the greenway for people of all mobility, visual, and sensory levels. Playful and color and patterns were used to activate the user experience for all users. Interpretive signs communicate the stories of the diverse neighborhoods along the trail. The resulting design will create equitable outcomes for all.
