Having outgrown the existing facility, the City of Carlyle desired to expand its offerings to young adults and provide improved services to the community as a whole. Arcturis initially developed a concept design for a new ground-up library in 2004; however, the project was postponed to secure funding. In 2012, our team assisted the library in successfully securing a state grant to contribute to the cost and bring the project to fruition. A favorite of the library director, Arcturis’s design provides a historic interpretation of neo-classical architecture while the interior space is a showcase of the latest evolutions in library design.
