Arcturis has designed campuses, buildings, and countless workplaces for Edward Jones all over the nation. One addition Arcturis designed is located on the Edward Jones South Campus in St. Louis and accommodates office space, training facilities, conference space, dining facilities, and a 600 seat, raked floor auditorium. The design objective was to create an addition that functions and appears as one cohesive building.
The building footprint is mirrored across a central drive to create a new shared entry. The most public activities – auditorium and conference spaces - are located at this circulation knot in a light-filled structural glass box. At night, the glowing box serves as a beacon, revealing the curving wood wall within. A single story dining pavilion, topped with a green roof, breaks down the scale at the north side of the campus. Glass loggias tie the office towers together and serve as circulation and event space. The building is designed to allow maximum natural light penetration and views into and out of the spaces. A custom brise-soleil, vertical and horizontal sun shading devices, control glare.
