A unifying connection point for a large, Fortune 100 financial company—this 66,000 SF work cafe is in continual use where users eat, meet, learn, and work in an engaging and sophisticated environment. The work cafe is a unique space on a nearly 2.2 million SF corporate campus that supports an active, collaborative work life. The space is active throughout the day starting with a morning meeting over coffee, accommodating multiple lunch shifts, and host to various meetings in the conference and war rooms. Integrated technology allows users the ability to find unassigned places to work away from their desks.

Light is used to highlight the architecture and various edges throughout the space giving the Cafe a unique experience on the corporate campus. Digital controls allow for flexibility in how the space is programmed now and in the future. Located in the lower level, lighting played an important part in the design since several areas lacked access to daylight and views. Fortunately the dining area was able to take advantage of new clerestory windows with glare control shades. The Work Cafe supports and drives the future of life on campus.
