The Metro East Park and Recreation District is the leading agency for parks, recreation and trail facilities in Madison and St. Clair Counties in Illinois. Arcturis was engaged to lead the effort to update MEPRD’s Long Range Development Plan (LRDP).
The year-long study process involved engaging local citizens and agencies for input regarding the existing parks and trail system and the documentation and analysis of existing trails, parks and open spaces. The plan identified corridors for trail and greenway expansions as well as important connections with existing greenway networks. The final Long Range Development Plan documents the planning process, goals and future vision for the District. The resulting LRDP will guide the function of the Metro East Park and Recreation District for the next 10 years.
