What building do you hope to see in person one day?
Lina Bo Bardi’s Glass House and Aino and Alvar Aalto’s Villa Mairea.
Who is your favorite designer or furniture line?
I love Aino and Alvar Aalto for their organic forms and natural materials and adore the whimsy of Lina Bo Bardi (the bowl chair, I hope to enjoy sitting in it daily one day!) Also, the Bauhaus weavers, in particular Gunta Stölzl and Anni Albers.
What’s your favorite landscape anywhere in the world?
The rugged coastline of the Adriatic Sea that I visited often during my childhood and my time abroad as a young adult. More specifically, the island of Vis and the city of Makarska in Croatia. You’ll find a mesmerizing combination of mountains, crystal clear waters, pine trees, and limestone rocks all along the coast. The contrast of the turquoise sea with the rugged mountains just lights up my soul! It is unlike any place I have visited.
