A local greenway along the River Des Peres in St. Louis, the River Des Peres Greenway is part of the larger River Ring Master Plan of trails, greenways, and open space developed by the Great Rivers Greenway District (GRG), a regional park district in the greater St. Louis region. Arcturis was ontracted by GRG to develop a detailed master plan for the greenway from Gravois Avenue to Lansdowne Avenue along the river. Developed to focus on connecting with the existing trail system and neighborhood connector trails, the master plan also addressed accessibility, sustainable design and best management practices regarding stormwater and landscape design. To solicit community input, Arcturis conducted public meetings as well as meetings with key stakeholders and parks department staff.
Approved in the summer of 2011, Arcturis developed final design plans for approximately 2.7 miles of trail for the River Des Peres Greenway that connect to an existing greenway trail to the East and to the MetroLink light rail station to the West. A complete set of construction documents for the trail were produced.
